Year 1 Animal Experts!

In Term 1, our Year 1 students learned all about information reports in English. To compliment this unit, we were fortunate to form a reciprocal community partnership with the Alexander Park Zoo rangers through the Bundaberg Regional Council. Our students had the wonderful opportunity to meet all the animals at Alexandra Park Zoo and learn from the Rangers. Through this excursion, students were able to listen to the Rangers about all the animals and retrieve all the information they needed to write their own information reports. Once we returned to school, the students wrote their own information reports about an animal of their choice that lives at Alexandra Park Zoo! The Year 1 students became animal experts!

Not only did these students write these information reports to share with the school community, but these are now featured on the Explore Bundaberg page for people around the country to read all about the amazing animals at Alexandra Park Zoo.

The reports are grouped in animals that are featured at Alexandra Park Zoo.

A fantastic job by our wonderful Year 1 students.
